It was General George S. Patton Jr. who said that “In order to defeat your enemy, you must know your enemy”. He studied his enemies thoroughly before engaging them in battle. Our great enemy in the battle for world health is Polio. Rotary has been fighting this battle for decades, and with the help of many allies from around the world, there is now a light at the end of the tunnel. But in order to keep the enemy at bay, one of the best weapons we have at our disposal is education. We must “know our enemy” so we can defeat it on all levels. The comic book style publication below gives a detailed explanation of Polio; how it develops, is transmitted and how it can be prevented, and finally the efforts that are being made to suppress it. Using the link to the right, you can download the complete publication and we encourage you to distribute it as best you can to groups in your community including schools to spread the word on how everyone can join the battle to conquer the “Final Inch” of territory.
